Registering Your Business in the DMV: From Entity Selection to Trademarking (webinar)

Entrepreneurs often have questions such as: Do I need to register my business? What type of entity should I choose? Where do I need to register? If my business is home-based, do I still need to register? What if I do business in another state or jurisdiction?

Led by two attorneys, this webinar will guide entrepreneurs through the key steps to legally establish and operate a business in Virginia, Maryland, and Washington, DC. Participants will learn about different entity structures, including sole proprietorships, LLCs, partnerships, and corporations, as well as the benefits and considerations of each option.

The webinar will cover state and local registration requirements, including when a business registered in one state may need to register as a foreign entity in another. Participants will also learn about trademark considerations. These decisions can impact funding opportunities, legal protections, and the long-term foundation of their business.
